Water Treatment

Water Treatment > Clar+Ion® Enhanced Coagulants

Clar+Ion® Enhanced Coagulants build on General Chemical's strong technology base and network of 34 aluminum sulfate plants. They offer water utilities the flexibility to address contemporary treatment issues with familiar chemicals. Clar+Ion products are formulated with a variety of organic coagulants and inorganic enhancement to improve turbidity, particle and color removal. Acidulated Clar+Ion coagulants have demonstrated superior TOC removal and are commonly used to reduce residual souble aluminum. They also can provide excellent economics by reducing alkali use and sludge generation.

Clar+Ion 700 Activation Technology

Clar+Ion 700 technology efficiently converts sodium silicate solutions to activated silica for potable water applications. It eliminates the safety and operational drawbacks of traditional activators — chlorine, sulfuric acid and sodium aluminate — and costs about 20% less than sulfuric acid and 50% less than sodium aluminate.
