Catalyzed sodium sulfite may irritate the eyes, nose and throat and may cause skin irritation. Ingestion may be harmful. Reacts with acids to release toxic sulfur dioxide gas which may be harmful or deadly if inhaled. May cause severe allergic reactions in some asthmatics and sulfite sensitive individuals.
